Healing Addons Help

Postby GoneNativeMan » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:04 pm

Hello,

I am looking for guidance and opinions for addons to assist in healing.

I have used clique and grid but I really like XPerl but can't get it to work with clique.

At the very least I am looking for the following:

A easy to read raid unitframe that;
displays class colors
shows buff/debuffs
has or indicates a mana/rage/energy bar
has some in range check indicator or a default 30-40yd range highlight

Any other opinions on raid related healing/debuff addons would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

I use Luna and I've been pretty satisfied with it. You can customize it.

displays class colors (mine are inverted, so people in range are shown in black. missing health has class colors)
shows buff/debuffs
mana/rage/energy bar
range check indicator

The only thing that I can't figure out (probably just me) is how to easily display buffs during buff time and toggling them off when its not. I just use ctraid and them turn those frames off. You can filter it though to show buffs of your choice.

My biggest issue that its just really buggy and I get lots of errors every day

The incoming-heal feature from luna is nice, however, I hate that the name is displayed inside the health/mana bar. Would be a lot better if there was an additional bar for name, status, rank etc.
aka Zerkee on Horde.

I'm a noob and really do like the simple look of the default frames -- anyone know an addon that looks/functions very similar to the Blizzard raidframes?

Also worth mentioning is decursive for healing (well, dispelling).

Re: Solution Healing Addons Help

I am using XPerl UnitFrames 1.9.6 and clique and I have found a solution which has worked for me and I wanted to share.

I take no responsibility if this does not work for you.

Make a backup copy of the file XPerl.lua found in "YourWoWInstallFolder"\Interface\AddOns\XPerl, example backup name XPerl-lua.bak

edit "YourWoWInstallFolder"\Interface\AddOns\XPerl\XPerl.lua

find the following two lines somewhere after line 30.

------------------------------------------------------------
local function OtherClickHandlers(button, unitid)

if (CastParty and CastParty.Event) then
CastParty.Event.OnClickByUnit(button, unitid)
------------------------------------------------------------

Add the following three lines under/after "local function OtherClickHandlers(button, unitid)"

------------------------------------------------------------
local function OtherClickHandlers(button, unitid)
if (Clique) then
Clique:OnClick(button, unitid)
------------------------------------------------------------

It should look like this, save and make sure "3rd Party Click Handlers" is enabled in XPerl.

------------------------------------------------------------
local function OtherClickHandlers(button, unitid)
if (Clique) then
Clique:OnClick(button, unitid)
end
if (CastParty and CastParty.Event) then
CastParty.Event.OnClickByUnit(button, unitid)
------------------------------------------------------------

FYI, Though I was able to get XPerl to work with Clique, I ended up using Luna UnitFrames after all. Luna's built in "clickcasting" is easy to use and setup.
