Closing account creation is very very very very bad.

What are You on about? I'm not exactly known to be atreyus no.1 fan but what he's saying makes perfect sense.
By disallowing account creation you're closing the door to potential players in less populated time zones who wouldn't increase the load issues on peaktime. Is this difficult to understand somehow?
In any case I'm also against closing account creation, I understand that the staff needs time to consider the future plans, I hope it would be possible for us to not hinder the growth as 1k is still a bit under optimal population, but I fully understand we might not have the resources.

I know I was one of the people who asked for measures against overpopulation, but 1500 players seems a tiny bit low for me. Don't get me wrong, personally I could live with just 300-400 people, but 1500 is basically a low pop Blizzard server. I would have expteced the maximum player limit to be at least twice that.

I can understand your decision, but are there any plans to upgrade the server hardware to allow more players in the future or is that out of question?

Disabling account creation strikes me as an incredibly bad decision for the future of the server.

The only possible way the server population can move at this point is downward, as people who leave cannot be replaced.

I truly hope this is a temporary measure, as it looks to me as if rebirth it's once again shooting itself in the foot just as things are starting to look up.

A login queue is a much better solution as it only impacts peak numbers, especially if it can be configured to prioritise older accounts.

We've had one miraculous recovery. If we fuck this up we won't get another.

Putting a 1.5k cap on the server to prevent lag until server can handle it is a good decision however disbling acc creation is not only pointless with a cap but potentially very harmful. What's the reasoning behind that restriction?
